The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually pressed up the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one service is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing successful too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
